First Trip to Steamboat

Well, we practically needed a UHaul to do it, but we managed to get up to Steamboat for the weekend.

We managed to fit everything (including Clementine) in my car and hit the road at 8:30 Friday morning. The kids did pretty good, but they fussed enough that I ended up sitting in the back seat wedged between both car seats while Mark drove the 3 hour drive.

Once in Steamboat, my days weren't too much different from being at home, but the change of scenery was great for me. Our friends Jud and Eve and their son Miles joined us for the weekend which was great! Mark and Jud skied while Eve and I took care of the kids at the condo. I did managed to make it out of our place a couple times, but mostly to walk the dog or run to the market. Mark and I also walked with the kids down to the base one afternoon for a beer which was nice.

The last day, Easter Sunday, was also closing day for the ski resort. To celebrate, they had a free band play at the base. We decided to take on the daunting task of packing up the babies and walking down to the base for the show. Unfortunately, by the time we fed, changed diapers, packed and walked, we ended up showing up just as the band was finishing their last song. That was a little disappointing, but since we were out, we decided to hang out awhile and enjoy a couple beers before heading back up to the condo.

Here you can see a few photos from our trip.
